The theme for English Camp 2022 was "The Dreamtime".  The Dreamtime has a quite difficult meaning, but it describes the Aboriginal spiritual beliefs and existence. It is the time long, long ago when the Earth was created. It may be difficult, but it is important to learn more about the cultures of the world in order to become more knowledgeable and inclusive members of society.

8月2日から3日間のイングリッシュキャンプが始まりました。 今年度のテーマは「ザ・ドリームタイム」。 ドリームタイムにはかなり難しい意味がありますが、 オーストラリアのアボリジニ（先住民） のスピリチュアルな信念と存在を表しています。 それは、地球が誕生したずっと昔のことです。 難しいかもしれませんが、 より知識豊富でインクルーシブな社会人になるためには、 世界の文化についてもっと学ぶことが重要です。

Day 1
After introducing the theme for the English Camp, Mr. Howes and Mark outlined the goals.  Three days in English only!  To begin with, the students learned about the long and proud history of the First Australians.  The Indigenous Australians are the longest continuing culture in the world.  Students appreciated the unique situation of over 250 different languages and rules in each 'country'.  Then, they learnt about the Dreamtime stories and their connection to the native Australian animals.  There was a lot of new information for the students, which made it a very valuable experience.

イングリッシュ キャンプのテーマを紹介した後、 ハウズ先生とマーク先生は目標の概要を説明しました。 英語のみの3日間！ まず最初に、 生徒たちは最初のオーストラリア人の長く誇り高い歴史について学 びました。 オーストラリア先住民は、世界で最も長く続いている文化です。 生徒たちは、それぞれの「国」にある 250 以上の異なる言語と規則の独特な状況を高く評価しました。 次に、ドリームタイムの物語と、 オーストラリア原産の動物とのつながりについて学びました。 生徒にとっては新しい情報が多く、 とても貴重な体験となりました。

先日実施された実用英語技能検定で、３名の生徒が準１級に合格しました！

３名は特進Sコースの３年生で、「先生が粘り強く練習に付き合ってくださったおかげで合格できた」「受験に向け、自信をつけることができた」と喜びを語りました。
